We believe that wearing sunscreen can be a good experience for everyone, that the health of the planet is key to the health of all people and as the children of Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) we have a responsibility to protect our planet for future generations.

As a redheaded sun worshipper who loves surfing, hiking, and diving, sunscreen is a daily essential for me. I’m also a passionate conservationist – that’s why I created Smidge Suncare. I wanted suncare that I can trust to protect my skin whilst reducing our impact on the planet (to just a smidge).
After doing much research, I turned my kitchen into a sunscreen lab. I figured less was best, so I formulated a sunscreen with just seven naturally derived ingredients and packaged it in plastic-free tins. We are 100% Aotearoa NZ made and operated.
