Extra Virgin Organic Olive Oil
Potassium Hydroxide, although none remains after saponification
Distilled Water
Castile Liquid Soap is a natural soap made from saponified Olive Oil, originating in the Kingdom of Castilla, a part of modern day Spain.
It has a mild pH that will not dry out the skin and can be used as a hand or face wash, body cleanser, shampoo and a mild laundry detergent.
A true soap containing no sulphates or chemical detergents, it is completely biodegradable and very earth-friendly.
Using traditional methods, our products are made by hand in small batches, here in New Zealand.
It is unscented, but can easily be fragranced with essential oils and thickened with table salt.
Any oil-based or water-based herbal ingredient can potentially be used.
Caution:
Some essential oils do not mix perfectly these may include lemon, lemongrass, clove, eucalyptus and possibly others, test carefully when using these oils.
Orange oils and other essential oils may leave the mixture and float on top if too much is used. Warm and stir them back in, wait 24 hours to check for separation. Skim excess from top if necessary.
