Product Types Directory

On this page you will find a list of the Product Types we use to direct your products to the Categories and sub Categories on Green Elephant. They are listed alphabetically by name and whilst some Product Types map to a single Category others map to multiple Categories. The column labelled Categories shows where the Product Type will be displayed and includes a handy link to see any other products listed.

The first table shows the Product Types that we have assigned to your account. The second table shows all the available Product Types we have created although some may not have been used yet. We have also included a description where the name is not self-explanatory or requires further clarification. If you think we need to add more explanations then please drop us a note.

ALL PRODUCT TYPES

The table below shows all available Product Types and their mapping to Categories and sub Categories. Please note the following conventions we have used when naming our Product Types:

• Fashion gender – we have used abbreviations to determine who an item is meant for; Male (M), Female (F) and Unisex (M + F). A Unisex item will be displayed in both Male and Female fashion. If you can’t find the one you want it probably hasn’t been needed before – please ask us.
• Baby & Child gender – we have used similar abbreviations to determine who an item is meant for; Boy (B), Girl (G) and Unisex (G + B). A Unisex item will be displayed in both Girls and Boys clothing.
• Baby & Child sizes – we have split the Product Types into age groups for 0 – 3 yrs, 2yrs+ and All Yrs. Where an item is available in only baby/toddler sizes use the 0 – 3 yrs grouping. If it is for older children then use the 2yrs+ grouping and if a clothing item comes in a range of sizes for both babies and older children use the “All Yrs” Product Type rather than creating individual product listings.
• Multi-purpose products – where a product has several different uses and you can’t find something that suits, we may need to create a specific Product Type for you to ensure it is shown in all the right Categories.
• Unique or unusual products – some products are so unique that you may need a Product Type with the same name as your product and reserved solely for your particular product eg: FORMcard. Please get in touch with us if you think that sounds like you!

USEFUL TIP: Most browsers allow you to search the page/table for a keyword and will highlight all occurrences. To do this press the CTRL and F keys at the same time and then enter your keyword in the text box that appears. When searching please bear in mind that we may have used a similar but different version of the word, for example Lamp versus Light. Search for the singular version of the word ie: Candle rather than Candles which will bring up both versions or widen the search by entering a shortened spelling of your word ie: “cand”!
